Review of Dolan's Cadillac (2009) by Jason A — 04 May 2010
I'll admit it; the only reason I checked this movie out was because it had the names 'Stephen King' and 'Christian Slater' attached to its cover. I ended up paying dearly for having such a superficial attraction towards a movie and have learned my lesson.
There was a story here somewhere once. But they decided to fill the movie up with flashback/dream sequences and characters talking out of their butt so much that I stopped listening. Seriously, you could have a person talking for a full two hours and you could still hate them without the right kind of character arc.
This is exactly what the movie tried to pull. Didn't work. Speaking of dragging on, the ending was so over-the-top and went on for so long that I considered crying just to pass the time. Casting was also a collection of oddball decisions.
Wes Bentley as a hero? No. He looks way too eerie and gives too much funny faces. Emanuelle Vaugier just shows up and sleepwalks.
