Review of Dogville (2003) by Gilmar G — 20 Sep 2009

It is not a easy movie to watch. Certainly mos of the people can hate it. But if you have any interest in any kind of good movies and be patient( It is almost 3 hours!!!)you can have some surprise. I like the way the director worked on it. It is a kind of Theatrical movie. The scenery is very interesting. The story is about a woman that suddenly appeared in a small town called Dogville, and the people who lives there decided to keep her with then even knowing nothing about her past. The police came to the town a couple of time looking for her like a criminal but they had made their mind keeping her hidden. She has to face the prejudice of being a stranger and then she seems to get friends in that town. As the time goes she would face many trouble. The end is very surprising.

Não é um filme fácil de assistir. Em alguns momentos é monótono. E é longo (quase 3 horas). Mas para quem gosta de filmes que fazem pensar e tiver paci6encia, é um bom filme. Mas com certeza, a maioria odiará!! Gostei da idéia que o diretor teve de fazer um filme como se fosse uma peça de teatro. Muito interessante o cenário onde tudo ocorre. Uma mulher aparece numa pequena cidade, chamada Dogville, e apesar de toda a desconfiança acaba sendo aceita na cidade após um plebiscito entre os moradores. mas ninguem sabe sobre seu passado. A polícia aparece algumas vezes procurando por ela, mas como eles já haviam decidido mantê-la escondida, eles não dizem uma palavra sobre a terem visto. Com o pasar do tempo, ela acaba conquistando a amizade de muitos, mas isto um dia mudará e a fará passar maus momentos. Um bom filme, mas eu não recomendaria para todos. O final é intenso e surpreendente.
