Review of Dogville (2003) by Damián T — 25 Aug 2009
This is an uncommon film. It is very slow, at first difficult to get into.
I admit that I wanted to turn it off many times, due to it that it was not very visual, more like empty stage. But if you are patient, after a while the emotions and the content of the film fills the scenery through your own imagination helped by some plain, interesting effects in a film.
This is a film that makes you think. After watching the movie it.
Has become a whole, and emotions are on top: a rewarding experience.
Absolutely one of Nicole Kidman's best performances! But you REALLY need patience with this film. The film has many levels,.
It speaks out the big society's problems through one small village.
And on an individual level it also shows perspective to human behaviour. Justice is needed.
