Review of Dogville (2003) by Justin B — 11 Jun 2011
This film is likely unlike anything you've seen. It's most striking aspect is it's use of extremely simple set and props to illustrate the town. If memory serves correct, the set consists of an open surface area with lines drawn to signify the outline of townspeople's homes and businesses.
Each home may have had one or two 3d, physical objects such as furniture, personal effects, etc. This served to remove visual distraction of the viewer and to cause one to concentrate more fully on the dramatic acting and dialogue as opposed to other films containing visually dazzling sets, special effects and other enhancements that can distract at times.
