Dogville is probably one of the hardest, if not the hardest, film to review. Ever. With the first half of the film, I was on the fence. I didn't know what to think. I thought the acting was superb and the script was perfect, its just the whole set and chalk line scheme was really taking away from the movie.

This all changed when I was an hour into the film. Everything disappeared. The chalk lines went away and the stage really came alive. This was such an odd moment for me, because ten minutes prior, I hated the look of the film.

Now, I was entranced with it...I can't explain it perfectly. Anyways, the whole moral and social metaphors that came with this film are so thought provoking. Maybe Von Trier's most thought provoking film? Probably, at least from what I've seen (probably not as thought provoking as The Idiots).

The acting was literally 100% perfect all around. The script was very tightly written to perfection. I am now a believe in the chalk scheme. Leave it to Lars Von Trier to create such an experimental, outrages idea and make it into one of the greatest motifs in film.

Bravo Trier, bravo.
