Review of Dogtown and Z-Boys (2002) by Dane J — 16 Apr 2005

Dogtown. Saw Stacy Peraltas two films and I cant decide which one was better. I think I liked Riding Giants better but they both were really cool films. Although I think Dogtown was more fucused in story which was good, the film itself was a little to limiting.

While Riding Giants was a deep story that was also badass. The biggest problem with Dogtown was they went into talking about Jay Adams and some of his problems that he has had but they were really non descript, not that they necessarily needed to get real deep in it, but I think when the director is friends witht he man, it kindve becomes hard to really look deep at him, without feeling like he may be attacking Adams and his problems.

But the rest of the film about the Z-Boys and skateboarding was still very cool and badass.
