Review of Dogtooth (2009) by Toad T — 12 Feb 2013
This wasn't exactly my cup of tea but I admire the audacity of the filmmaker for a surreal, disturbing and creepily dysfunctional portrait of one very sick family. I wouldn't want to watch this again and many scenes were too disturbing for me to derive the intended humor from them.
I agree with the LA times critic who says the film is not fully formed enough to be visionary. There are too many static repetetive scenes that don't advance the narrative. Interesting concept though and warrants some consideration.
