Dogtooth is one of the most disturbing films I have seen in a long time, but it is a great film. I can kind of see why this is similar to The Village, but Dogtooth didn't play it safe, went all out, and it is better than The Village.
It is its own film and it got me invested to see what crazy stuff is going to happen. It isn't particularly exciting to watch as it takes mostly in their house, but the characters are interesting to see, and their weirdness alone with great dialogue are one of the highlights of the film.
It is not for everyone as it has scenes that are too unsettling for some viewers to watch and grasp, but it is quite an experience to watch.
