Review of Dogma (1999) by Chrysafis S — 29 Mar 2010
This movie lives up to the expectations and makes you laugh while touching a sensitive matter, faith!
Nice storyline and decent acting, mixed up with some catchy, smart dialogues and jokes is what this movie is all about. The added bonus you get when you watch "Dogma" is that unlike other comedies, it is not a single-dimension film as it surely makes you reconsider a thing or two about religions. Personally I've always enjoyed comedies that have a meaning besides stupid jokes, I've even enjoyed those which try to have a meaning but never quite make it. It is the effort that counts :).
Another bonus you get if you watch this film? The very good performance of Alan Rickman (The Metatron)!
To sum up, if you are a religious person and you are insulted or irritated easily, this movie will possibly insult you or irritate you. if however you believe that God has some humor, watch it, and laugh together with him :).
