Review of Dogma (1999) by Modern G — 25 Jan 2011
Uneven with many ups and downs, hits and misses, as is most of Kevin Smith's work. Some of it is good satire and humorous, but other parts don't gel well together and seem weird simply for the sake of being weird.
The cast provides most of the amusement, particularly Rickman, Lee, Damon and Affleck, and yes, the film is by no means theologically sound, but I don't think that was its point.
