Review of Dogma (1999) by Kristen B — 22 Jul 2011
Overlong, tedious and witless comedy. As im not religious I have no issue with poking fun at religion when it's funny (Life of Brian for example) but in this the much overhyped Smith spends so long explaining every thing in a confused script that very little of the comedy works and the (supposedly) profound bits fail miserably.
Could have been good in more talented hands. On the plus side Fiorentino and Rickman where pretty good and Jay and Silent Bob marginally less annoying than usual although thats very faint praise from me.
