Review of Dogma (1999) by London J — 26 Sep 2012
Dogma is a very intriguing and interesting movie with all its talk on religion and the values that surround it. The humour and dialogue are what make it so much fun, especially when carried by the great duo Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
Jay and Silent Bob's appearance is always good as their crass and insight fulness off-sets the seriousness of characters such as Salma Hayek and Alan Rickman, who does a fantastic job. With this great cast working together, we can almost forgive the poor performances of Linda Fiorentino and Chris Rock, who is constantly stupidly annoying.
Disregarding the toilet humour which is the main fault in this movie, it works well and is enjoyable. Thank you Kevin Smith for your constant light-hearted humour that remains relevant to modern issues.
