Review of Dogma (1999) by Spyros T — 31 Oct 2012
I was surprised by how much I still enjoy this film almost 12 years after my first viewing. No doubt it reminds me of when I first viewed it as a faith-in-crisis teenager, but much of the brilliant dialogue holds up very well, and I love how Bartleby and Bethany have their parallel arcs.
I see Dogma as a good smack to the face of religion, it tears down the principles of organized religion into something human, in a humorous way. Also, this time I enjoyed much more the George Carlin cameo, simply brilliant!
