Review of Dogma (1999) by Lee C — 08 Jan 2013
It was a brave person who green-lighted this movie, because on paper it does not work, the story, the cast, the religious subject matter, disaster waiting to happen, however....... I can't put my finger on what it is, but this movie is amazing, the cast choices are inspired, the script is funny while at the same time dealing with hefty religious explanations, while at the same time being semi-respectful to the subject matter.
Alan Rickman is simply heavenly in this movie, worth watching just for him.
