Review of Doghouse (2009) by Teemu P — 17 Jan 2010
"Doghouse" traces the misadventures of a group of henpecked and/or dissatisfied men from London on a road trip to the quaint little town of Moodley, where women outnumber men 4 to 1. They're off to help cheer up their friend who is going through a divorce, hoping to prove to him that all women aren't evil.
Naturally, Moodley is the site of a clandestine military experiment--delivered through washing powder--that turns women into vicious, man-hating cannibals. Hilarity and comedic gore ensue. "Doghouse" does not take itself seriously enough to be a true horror movie and is not funny enough to be a horror comedy, so it will disappoint some audiences.
The story is also somewhat sloppy and major plot points are left unresolved or underexplained. Nevertheless, "Doughouse" is a largely effective, if completely stupid, movie that is good mindless fun.
