Review of Doghouse (2009) by Jamie B — 14 Apr 2010
There's alot of enthusiasm and relish in this movie, which despite it's silly and overt premis, had the potential to be alot of fun. The only problem is that they just don't get it. The mark is missed over and over. Things are of course not helped by the cheapness of it all, and the unbelievable levels of over-acting by the female zombies.
I was hoping for this to be a surprising gem, in the way that 'Severence' was - which, unlike this mess, managed to poke fun at the slasher genre in a very knowing and witty way, while still being genuinly creepy, scary and in the end - a solid example of that which it was parodying.
