"What!? Captain Dills is giving a movie like Dog Soldiers a 80%?" Yeah. I am. And the reason is simple. This movie is amazing. Some people might think I am losing credibility for throwing words like "amazing" around for movies that play on the SyFy channel, but this film is a different type of amazing. It is straight balls to the wall filmmaking, and I find that extremely respectable. There's no need to explain the plot; you can just look at the DVD cover. That's exactly what it's about. Big, scary werewolves munching on people; soldiers, to be more exact. Neil Marshall, better known as the guy who made The Descent, bursts onto the scene with this explosive flick. It is an action-packed thrill ride that is awesome for a big group of friends who are looking for buckets of gore. The real reason I like this movie so much is because nowadays, these so called "Horror" movies literally go out of their way to not offend their audiences. This movie doesn't tip toe around and hope for the MPAA to grant them a PG-13 rating. Within the first thirty seconds, the viewer knows they are in for a gruesome watch, and if they don't like it, they can just turn it off. Werewolves have always been cool, but lately they have been a bit absent for whatever reason. Dog Soldiers reassures you that werewolves are back, and they are REALLY hungry.
