Review of Dog Soldiers (2002) by Justin R — 11 Dec 2008
I found this film by looking into what else Neil Marshall has done besides Doomsday, which is simply incredible. The story for this sounded too good to be true; I decided to check it out. I was pleased to be greeted by Kevin Mckidd of Rome legend, who does a good job in this role.
The action gets moving quickly and it is very pleasing. It is pretty campy, but it is an excellent film regardless. For having no budget, they do a good job with the special effects. There are not many movies where soldiers are besieged by werewolves so it is a fresh take on an old horror genre; nasty monsters attack group of people.
Dog Soldiers is an engaging British horror movie with just enough comedy thrown in for effect.
