Review of Dog Soldiers (2002) by Michael R — 14 May 2009
More brawn than brains in this tongue-in-cheek horror movie that pits soldiers against werewolves in a remote Scottish cabin in the forest. Good fun, not quite as dumb as it might appear, thanks to an ironic tone similar to AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and THE HOWLING.
The werewolves, made not with CGI, but with animatronics and make-up, are passable, but the final punchline, seen in the end credits, is brilliant.
