Review of Dog Pound (2010) by Alex C — 17 Oct 2010
Dog Pound is a grim movie about a youth correctional center and how three new inmates cope with the obstacles put in their way once they arrive.
Although this film is completely devoid of any light at the end of the tunnel , I cant say I didn't enjoy parts of it.
The acting is nothing special ( it's especially poor from the people who play the wardens ) and the story is very predictable.
The closest thing to this movie is the 1979 British film "Scum" Directed by Alan Parker and starring Ray Winston.
Where as that film was pretty ground breaking for it's time , Dog Pound is not.
If you like prison drama's then this is worth seeing but it's nothing you have not seen before.
