Review of Dog Days (2001) by John C — 07 Jun 2004
Dog Days is a demented and depressing drama that highlights the supposed dark under-belly of suburban life. Set in Austria, this film was allegedly filmed over three years using only amatuer actors. How the director was able to get actors to do as many demeaning and demented things on film speaks more to the actors probably desperation for thier first big break than their fearlessness.
Seriously, there are some truely demented things going on in this film. In fact, the movie is so depressing it virtually loses the viewer all together. It was generally well filmed but the plot left alo to be desired.
You may want to skip it unless your a huge fan of demented and cruel behavior.
