Review of Dog Day Afternoon (1975) by Sean S — 05 Nov 2010
Very influential for its great writing and understanding of characters mixed with superb dialogue and well crafted narrative. You really feel Sonny's struggle throughout the entire film due to Pacino's performance which keeps you glued to the screen with raw emotions and a natural performance which keeps the tone of realism.
The messages of the film are also just as powerful as the acting and the tone as they are the way we can connect with Sonny once we understand the society he is living in. The portrayal of the media is very true and unfortunate as they take no moral standpoint but do whatever will get views and don't care about the outcome just the story.
