Review of Dog Day Afternoon (1975) by Brian K — 10 Dec 2010
A film by one of the masters of storytelling, Sidney Lumet, Dog Day Afternoon employs Al Pacino in one of the greatest performances of his career. Pacino has no bounds here; playing a crazed bank robber, his emotions run wild as his plan goes horribly wrong and he improvises to get out alive.
The camerawork is vivid and engaging and overall it's an extremely clever film, exceeding most expectations.
