Review of Dog Day Afternoon (1975) by Darren P — 13 Jun 2012
Here's a good ole classic bank robber movie, with all the cliches that are played out throughout the history of bank robber movies. Dog Day Afternoon also includes a touching story about Sonny and his Wife, and his other Wife Leon. He loves his wife and kids, but his true passion is towards his "wife" Leon.
Most movies that touch on the subject of homosexuality today are sappy movies, that only try to make us feel bad for them because they are gay. Also, let's take a moment to think about all the gay dramas that take place in prison. It is a little refreshing to see a classic, that doesn't include the cliches of today's gay dramas.
That being said, Dog Day Afternoon is a pretty good movie, and at times, it can be really funny.
