Review of Dog Day Afternoon (1975) by Ryan T — 14 May 2012
Wow, this movie was great. Al Pacino is fantastic as a bank robber who has no idea what he's doing trying to get money for his partner's sex change operation. Really smart screenplay and cinematography.
I was hooked from the first five minutes, and couldn't look away the whole rest of the movie. Pacino deserves credit for selling the character so well and making us deeply invested in what's going on.
For any film student or prospective actor/actress, this is mandatory viewing. Heck, this is mandatory viewing for anyone who enjoys film. An absolute must-see.
