Cruel, sadistic and without hope...but purposely so. Edison Chen and Sam Lee throw themselves into their roles begging the audience to see them not as HK teeny boppers, but as living, breathing character actors.
It works for the most part (except for the faltering last act), but some time should have been spent asking the same question you will have when the credits roll. What was the point?
