Review of DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story (2004) by Zachary C — 09 Apr 2013
There's just something about this movie that just keeps you laughing even though it's really not that funny. Therefore it is a very enjoyable film. Although one thing I have to say about this movie is that I felt like the movie was holding back a lot.
Because even though it was funny it felt like the director Rawson Marshall Thurber was too scared to offend anybody or make a joke that would either offend or not be funny and instead stuck to formulaic things that nobody would be offended by.
For instance in movies like Zoolander that movie wasn't afraid to be just flat out stupid and seriously that is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Even films like Epic Movie aren't afraid to just make jokes that are stupid.
And even though I'm giving this four stars I must say that I'm a bit disappointed in this movies lack of bravery to just be stupidly funny.
