Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Dante P — 12 Jul 2008
I can't exactly remember when I first watched this movie ... but I remember watching it in Margherita Club in the early '70s, thanks to my liberal parents who didn't shelter me from watching adult movies - practical reason being they didn't want the ayah to baby sit till late in the evenings.
I watched this movie again just a few years ago and of course, I could appreciate it much more on a deeper level ... the stark hospital and the vase of vibrant yellow sunflowers, a petal falls and Lara leaves.
It's truly a sweeping epic and the music ( "Lara's theme") lingered on with me like a stuck record for quite a while after.
