Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Paul B — 12 Sep 2008
Despite the fame of this film and Lean's masterful skills in direction this suffers from a terrible dramatic structure. The actors are forced to squeeze in lots of exposition at key moments (see the last scene with Rita 'a taste of honey' Tushingham).
Omar Shariff is very good as is Alec Guiness and an outstanding Rod Steiger. Most of the others are weak. Dissappointing.
