Review of Doctor Zhivago (1965) by Mark N — 22 Dec 2008
First saw this in the Ambassador Cinema in Dublin when I was thirteen. There was some doubt as to whether I'd be allowed in or not which added to the excitement of the outing. I was blown away by the photography, the romantic, sweeping, historical narrative which spanned years.
I loved it when they re-visited locations that had changed over time. The magic of the cinema and the magic of a master storyteller in David Lean. One of my all time favourites.
