Review of Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor (2013) by Jared W — 25 Nov 2013
A deeply conceived and utterly magnificent celebration of the longest running science fiction show in the history of television, Day of the Doctor celebrates 50 years of Doctor Who in style. Confidently trotting out triumph after triumph of drama, action and laughter, this special keeps both old and new fans hooked for the entire running time.
Congratulations are in order for the entire production crew, and especially Steven Moffat, the show-runner, whose imaginative vision made the 50th anniversary a truly awe-inspiring spectacle while also successfully transitioning the Doctor from television to movie theaters.
Special appearances and nods to the fans are abound in this incredible project. Not only do we get a sense of where the Doctor has been, but also get a glimpse of his future. I wish I could speak more openly about the surprises found in the film, but only a fool would dare reveal the secrets locked away in this treasure trove, yet only a fool would choose not to experience them for his or her self.
Here's to 50 more years of Doctor Who.
