Review of Doctor Who (1996) by Adrian C — 03 Aug 2007
It may be too Americanised and lack the spark of the original series or the Buffy-esque sleekness of the new one, but this movie is still good fun. Paul McGann makes for a good Doctor (shame he never got to reprise the role onscreen), Daphne Ashbrook is a mature and intelligent assistant and Eric Roberts is delightful as a ridiculously camp Master (though he doesn't seem half as OTT compared to John Simm's take on the character!).
John Debney's gorgeous score is another highlight.
