Review of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) by Radoniel — 15 May 2022
This movie is, out of all things, one especially: too much of everything. The first Strange was just the right amount of well executed visual effects, this one is just brain-melting. It's overflowing with it, and while it's good-looking quality wise - it adds nothing. The story is, just like the latest Spider-Man, very, very bare-bones and could've easily been condensed in half of this movie's length if you really wanted to make it "just story".
I understand the appeal of putting characters like Captain Carter, Professor Xavier or, even, John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic in the movie - but please let them do something that adds to the story at the very least.
It's so, so disappointing that the talent of Elisabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch and Xochitl Gomez was wasted in this dragging VFX-fest of a movie.
