Review of Doctor Strange (2016) by Aïko G — 05 Apr 2017
Doctor Strange is another installment in the many Marvel universe movies. Before watching this, I had my doubts if the multidimensional and time altering storylines of Doctor Strange could be brought to the screen in a sensible and watchable way.
I am partly satisfied, but also a little disappointed. We follow Dr. Stephen Strange who is an amazing surgeon. But after a car crash, that left his hands crushed, he can't ever get back to his former glory days.
When medicine fails him, he tries to find his salvation in more mystical means. There he learns of the Ancient One and he stumbles in a great adventure fighting of interdimensional villains and monsters.
The storyline sounds crazy. It stays watchable though, but in my opinion they played it too safe. As complicated as the comic stories can be, in comparison this is very simple. They should have added a little more interdimensional and time looping action instead of the familiar fighting action.
Entertaining but could have been so much more.
