Benedict Cumberbatch shines and looks like the titular character, but when it comes to the film's plot and humor, it falls below other Marvel films that set the bar very high. "Doctor Strange" might have some unique visuals and surprises, but when it comes to its story, you've seen it all before and can get a bit tiring and boring.
Not as different as "Guardians of the Galaxy" and not as exciting as "Captain America." Doctor Strange just there to be there.
