Doctor strange fails to hide its paper thin story in its plethora of visual effects that are at times good and othertimes cheesy. The story or more precisely the theme had promise, but its definitely Marvel's treatment that ruined it all. The film can be unnecessarily frantic at times, pouring in CGI from all corners so as to extend the runtime. Most of the actors are underutlised, say for instance Rachael McAdams or Mads Mikkelsen or Michael Stuhlbarg. It's entertaining enough for a one time watch. The colour palette is so bad and girlish, a villain of darkness and doom (so formulaic) having hues of pink, green and blue. Cumberbatch does justice with whatever crap is given to him.
