Review of Do You Believe? (2015) by Brandon C — 29 Mar 2015
The critic reviews of this movie are extremely biased. They say that the movie is constantly preaching and giving political statements. However, the movie simply takes 12 very real stories within people's lives in a city and shows how Christ is the true savior for anyone who believes in him, and without him there is no real hope. There is very minimal cheesy acting (in my opinion, just slightly more than a Hollywood production) and if you have seen any of the other Christian movies, this one is the best. It seems like they progressively get better. It seems like the critics simply don't like the gospel centrality to the movie. The critics are making religious statements. They're promoting their beliefs and worldview just as much as the movie itself.
I was thoroughly entertained and inspired by the movie and I have become pretty critical of movies that don't keep me engaged. This also had some very good acting given that there were 5 or 6 pretty famous actors.
This movie needs to be seen in theaters 1. because it is a good movie... and 2. because they need to be able to continue making better and better Christian movies.
