Review of Do the Right Thing (1997) by Steve W — 10 Aug 2009
A powerful and racially charged film. Its definitely very balanced and shows that there is no one bad race, we are all equally ignorant. Some may dislike the protagonist's final actions, but I saw right through it and understood. I will delve no more as to not spoil the film.
Radio Raheem had a nice homage to The Night of the Hunter, a film I really didn't enjoy. It was a nice throwback to the love and hate story. One of Spike Lee's better films, even though the plot is sort of trivial, the themes and symbolism are heavy and meaningful.
