I loved it. I entirely loved it. I loved Do The Right Thing. The Spike Lee Joint. NOT FILM. Joint. It is a excellent movie. A amazing movie. A movie that defines the racial drama. A movie that defines a hollywood ending. A movie that defines cinematography. Everything in Do The Right Thing is amazing. The movie opens up with our radio host saying its the hottest day of the year. It is hot. HOT HOT HOT! Mookie works at a pizza parlor getting his regular salary. When things start getting damn choatic in the ghetto, Mookie watches. The movie has excellent cinematography. The way they used the colour orange with the camera makes us look at how hot is really is outside. The screenplay is oscar worthy at all costs. Why wasn't this nominated for Best PIcture? It was only nominated for two actors. Screenplay (Original) and Supporting Actor. But Danny Aiello gets top billing! I love many scenes like the risky racial cussing scene where some of the cast talks to the camera and swears out racial words. I love the koreans and their market also. The DJ was awesome, Radio Raheem was awesome, Mookie was awesome. Everything was awesome. The ending. My god. What a ending. The ending is supported at the middle where a man tries to boycott Sal's pizza parlor. This happens at the end of the film with Sal breaking Raheem's boom box and getting into a fight with him. Raheem is killed by the police. Everyone watches in shock as they take him away in the police going downtown. Mookie, being sensible grabs a garbage can and throws it at the window of Sal's pizza parlor. Everything goes crazy. They start trashing the place and burning the place as the police arrive just in time to stop this riot as the koreans watch and Mother Sister mourns the fall of the commuinity. Then, the final scene. Where Mookie goes to get his salary. He walks away and then we get quotes from Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X as they are mentioned in the film. The film ends dedicating people and the credits role. Do The Right Thing is more then just a movie. Its Doing The Right Thing.
