Oh man, so well done!! So many insanely good performances! I just want to ask Leonard if his performance was based on someone he knows because he made some very distinctive choices. For those that would be sensitive (no judgement) this is a very violent movie, and there are scenes that are going to take pieces of your heart as they should because they are based on the awful historical treatment of slaves.

I think its important to say that Tarantino treats violence that is historical accurate with the respect and truth that is needed to remember them; the violence that is fancy is over the top theatrical (sort of an "alienation of the audience" so that you can just enjoy the emotional cathartic-ness of a wishful-thinking, cowboy sort of justice).

The only disappointment (SPOILER ALERT) is that I wish Calvin Candy would have died a more horrible death. I get that it was really his ego being shot (couldn't believe HE was actually being shot) but still.

After the dog scene and the fighting scene when we meet him, I want MORE to happen to him . . . a lot more.
