Review of Django Unchained (2012) by Del H — 22 Jun 2014
Very good film without instantly becoming a favourite. There's something so simple but very enjoyable about watching a free slave taking out his hurt and anger on any slaver he can find. All whilst being assisted by a German doctor who can't stand the fact one race is mistreated on such a large scale, oh the irony.
There's all the comic book violence and stylish but natural dialogue that comes with many Tarantino films and the setting is one that is easily compelling, but Django just didn't have the wow factor for me.
