Review of Django Unchained (2012) by Joe O — 12 Nov 2014
How can you improve on Tarantino's dialogue, epic story arc, and colorful characters? The ultra-violence is at once emblematic and satirical, yet it works. And while few Tarantino movies lack this ultra-violence, what is always most disturbing is watching the ways some characters and people groups treat others.
Tarantino makes us face our most grievous sins while making us laugh and leaves us scratching our heads and wondering whether we are in fact the villains.
