Review of Django Unchained (2012) by John B — 26 Dec 2014
This is Tarantino's best work since Pulp Fiction. What really makes this film is Christoph Waltz's performance as Dr Shultz. It's funny, violent, tense, action packed and thrilling all at once. Jamie Foxx as always is on top form as Django the freed slave turned gunslinger. Leonardo takes a much darker and sadistic role to what I'm used to seeing him in. As always he plays his part excellently and his acting and work just seem to improve with time.
Overall this is definitely one to watch, after a string of mediocre pictures from the Tarantino camp it's good to see he can still pull a rabbit out of the hat now and then.
