Review of Django Unchained (2012) by Dan M — 24 Jul 2015
Another great Tarantino film!!! It's very interesting that the 2 back to back films he did were both about historic atrocities. It makes the violence that pops up more tolerable when it is being done to Nazis and slavers.
It's interesting and makes sense that he picked these 2 films to do back to back. While this and Inglorious Basterds has it share of violence, it is not as non stop as you would think. Most of the films are dialogue with violent scenes intermittently popping up as a way to drive the story forward.
I loved that other than Hitler, my most hated character in Inglorious Basters was played by Christopher Waltz, the same guy who played my most loved character in this film. From a Nazi to a freer of slaves! Leo played a great villain in the film too.
I'm not much in to western films, but this was terrific and is one of the only ones I've ever seen.
