Review of Django Unchained (2012) by Zachary M — 13 Jul 2016
It's been heralded for its action and acting, both of which are deserved, but I just can't help not caring too much about it.
For many that sounds like blasphemy, but having given it two viewing just to make sure my feeling didn't changed, and guess what? They didn't. Not only is the strategy to get Broomhilda out of bondage overly complicated, but it's so easy humbled too. Not just that, but by the person who planned it. Also, this movie didn't need to be this long. I have a personal grip with any movie over 2 1/2 hours in length that doesn't deliver. Never before had I checked the clock so many times wondering if this thing was over yet. Only to discover I still had forty plus minutes! What a terrible realization indeed.
