It's porn. kinda the way wrestling is porn. and that's not an insult. it's the same revenge love story retold countless times. the good guys face just enough adversity so you know who the bad guys are.
the bad guys are unfeeling racist and you hate them. so when Django wins it makes for a satisfying money shot.
