Review of Django (1966) by Corrado G — 19 Nov 2007
For the first time Django is available in both English and Italian language (also with English subtitles)I've noticed the little changes in the script when you select the English audio. If you want the original (better) script watch it in Italian, I think you'll appreciate it more.
As per the movie, it's an excellent piece of film making. The Italian film industry is not what it used to be. They used to belt out films like this all the time, back in the day. There were many different renditions of Django, but THIS IS THE ORIGINAL DJANGO, starring Franco Nero.
Director Sergio Corbucci did a great job with this classic Spaghetti Western. This DVD release is the best one yet. The quality is amazing, completely remastered. And there is also a 13 minute documentary on Django, wich includes interviews with Franco Nero and Ruggero Deodato.
I was very happy with this DVD, the movie, the features, everything. Rent it and experience a true spaghetti western!!! Now, FOR ALL YOU FANS: They've just released a remake of this film, shot in Japan called "Sukiyaki Western Django" you may be interested in.
Came out in theaters Sep 07 in Japan. And it's a more modern Japanese version of it. I know Tarantino is involved in it as well. Anyway, get this movie... The original Django!
