Review of Django (1966) by Sol H — 31 May 2011
This movie bears a lot of resemblance to other westerns made at the same time, especially to the work of Sergio Leone, but what sets this movie apart is it's brutality. It's easy to see how a movie like this could have influence over directors like Quentin Tarantino, especially in terms of ear cutting.
The real question is, weather or not Tarantino's next film, Django Unchained, will be at all related to this film? Much like how Inglorious Basterds was loosely (very loosely) based on the 1978 film, The Inglorious Bastards.
