Review of Django (1966) by Anthony P — 30 Dec 2012
Fell upon this movie by chance when I was looking up the new Tarantino movie, which after seeing this, took a lot from this film. The red KKK bags on their heads, the name and even the theme song, you little trickster Tarantino.
Anyway, this film was awesome, and a different style of spaghetti western then I am used to. Has a lot of color compared to the usual muddy tone of the Spaghetti westerns. Also, the most violent of Spaghetti westerns that I have ever come across.
You cannot help but love the character of Django, with his cool demeanor and coffin dragging self. I always love seeing where people get influence from, and this film has influenced quite a lot of work.
