Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Dana T — 23 Feb 2008
I'm a big Dixie Chicks fan and not a big Bush fan, so my opinion is very, very biased. I loved the film. I think it is a scary reminder of what happened to our country right after war was declared in Iraq: If you had any problems with the war, you were branded unAmerican (when, really, what can be more American than exercise one's freedom of speech).
In addition to covering the scandal, the film also gives the viewer some glimpses of the DC's home lives, song writing process, etc., which I enjoyed.
